Performance Bonds

Just a quick surety bond tip: The bank or surety company holding the bond is not there to determine if the contract obligations have been met. The contractor must show the contract's terms have been met, which has to be accepted by the receiving party. If the client decides the contractor is in default, the bond may not be released, and legal action may be necessary to obtain payment.
