Today on the news we learned that the Louisville, KY Ford plant is retooling and seeking workers for 1,800 postions. Wow! This is great.
More than 17,000 boogied on over there to try and get a piece of the action. Needless to say, the company has been overwhelmed with job applicants. So, the company will use a lottery system to decide who will be interviewed.
Then, for each of the 1,800 jobs filled, experts say another 14,000 plus jobs will be created as the need for parts and support grows. This is great!
But what if you are not so lucky to land one of these jobs here?
In Louisville, you have about 9 hungry people for every 1 job opening. This is not good odds. It is getting so that job scarcity and job security are reeking havoc in the world of job hunters.
I get a lot of inquiries from many of those who aren't so lucky to nail down a job. They are not finding anything either due to job scarcity or job insecurity. More and more are learning that the pursuit of self-employment is not such a bad idea.
