I have been self-employed for over 8 years now. There ain't nothing like it. I'm free. For years I had this dull sense of depression every Sunday evening, knowing that tomorrow, I was headed back to the rat race or whatever surprises that were awaiting me.
But now I'm free.
I can take off any time I want. Nobody to ask permission from. I can sleep in if I want. Nobody to call in to, as I'm trying to explain that I was ill during the night. No more scheduling vacations with every one else.
And for sure, no more trying to make it to the bank and gettting back to work before the clock strikes 1 pm.
Nope. I'm free and living my dream.
