In the last message, I mentioned that maybe you can pitch in if you see a kid in need. You may have already "done your part". If so, great. If not, the next question is, are you able? Some are, some are not.
However, this may be a solution for some:
Why not “adopt” a serious, hardworking kid and make sure he or she is able to attend college. Yes, there may be many individuals who could help younger kids like this. Possessing a passion to help those deserving people who can’t help themselves and coupling this passion with a great deal of discernment can be very powerful.
Being alert and sensitive to others’ needs is a start. From there, take what ever comes your way. Sometimes you don’t have to look very far or very intensely. If you are open and alert, things will come your way.
So, you say, I don’t have a nickel to spare. No problem. Want to know what may be more powerful than money? It’s giving recognition and words of encouragement or appreciation to someone. This is a real motivator to those who receive these.
I don't mean to be preaching to you. But social action in this day and age can be so powerful.
