I have been training others to become either freight brokers or broker agents going on 7 years now. Before that, over the years, I had been working with small business start ups. It is fascinating working with all sorts of people.
They come to me with a mixed bag of concerns, hopes and fears. They come to me with different skill levels and abilities.
One thing that stands out with many - they think that money (or the lack thereof) is the biggest problem they face. They think - "If I just had enough money, I could whip this thing".
In my opinion, the lack of money is NOT the biggest problem.
Truly understanding the necessary requirements of freight brokering, learning them from the heart and the head and then applying action in the direction and in the proportion to what is needed is the biggest problem.
Money has very little to do with this.
I like to think that the information in my website, my blog and in my other free or low-cost materials is a way for people to get acquainted with not only my freight broker training, but with the industry as a whole. They can do all this without spending a nickle - or without jumping in head first.
Take an hour or so and go through my materials. First, the website, then the other stuff. See if you don't get a better feel for what freight brokering is all about. See if it doesn't help you make a decision.
