One of the most important aspects of any training are the materials. There are great materials and there are lousy materials.
Have you every attended a seminar or workshop or any training where they pass out a training manual? Sometimes you know in advance what to expect; sometimes you don't have any clue what you will receive.
What you want to avoid are the type of training materials that are very general in nature. Just an outline. The preparers do this primarily to protect their "intellectual property" from being ripped off.
However, if you are paying big bucks for any training, your materials need to be written in great detail. It is almost impossible to absorb information that is either very general in outline form or given to you verbally without some detailed backup.
When you are seeking freight broker training alternatives, ask yourself what YOU want to receive. Then ask questions from each vendor.
Take a look at the vendor's website. How is it presented? Is it presented in detail or just a bunch of general stuff - "Make Big Bucks Being a Freight Broker", etc.?
Take a look at the vendor's blog. And if they don't have a blog, that should be a red flag because they are not committed to providing some freebie or low-cost, detailed information before they ask for any serious money. Again, the blog should be at least 50% helpful and useful information and the other info should give you some insight on the vendor's training and their personality.
When following a blog for sometime, you should get the feeling that you actually know that person. If you jump into a training program without really feeling you know them and without expecting some good, detailed content, you might find yourself very disappointed.
For a short time, I am making my eBook available with a $20 discount. It's titled, "The Best of John Thomas on Freight Brokering". Normally it is $47 and you can pick it up right now for several days for just $27. It's a compilation of nearly 100 blog posts from the previous year that is packed with useful and practical information.
