The Hidden Power In Your Dreams ... Find It
Most people dream but many forget what they dream about when they awaken. That's normal. Most people have crazy dreams. That's normal too. I sometimes just have to shake my head and ask myself why I just had such a crazy dream.
But I want to talk about another method of dreaming. But, first, let me ask you ..... do you have a chance to be alone very often? You could be a busy mom or dad with kids and all sorts of activity in the house and then be the chief taxi driver as well. So, your only rest comes when you sit down to eat for a few minutes or you grab a little time on the TV.
Or you may be a single person - either younger and single or perhaps older and divorced and living alone. And you may have time alone without interruption. But you may have a hunger for some more action in your life. Something more exciting. And you can't seem to relax or rest very often.
Whether you have time alone or not, I want you to try something.
Get away from all the "noise". But don't do this when you are tired. Sit back in a recliner if you have one. Just get comfortable. No TV, no music. Turn the phone off. Then start thinking about how you would like your life to be or what "new" thing you would like to have. Let you mind drift. Don't rush it. Start thinking about something that you would like more of - it could be just more time for relaxation, or playing more sports or having more Friday night cookouts with your favorite friends, or a quiet stroll on a warm summer night in your neighborhood.
If you are single, it could be meeting someone special in your life. Someone who just fits your dreams almost perfectly to a T. If it's a better house, or better car, or even complete financial freedom - let your mind absorb it and don't let your mind stop thinking about it just because it seems impossible or not at all practical. Indulge in it and build on it.
Go ahead and spend an hour or more with some real quiet time like this.
I can almost guarantee that at some point - if you have no interruptions and if you don't let yourself be afraid because you just can't allow yourself to think about such good things - at some point you will come upon something that will start your heart pounding a bit faster. As you allow yourself to indulge in the "forbidden", your entire mind, body and soul will start to flow with an excitement that you can't describe. You will have a flood of passion that overtakes you as you allow yourself to think about these things.
This is good and I'll tell you right upfront - you should NEVER let go of that passion and what it is that really gets you going. You should make every effort every day to bring this to reality.
I know - I've been there.
This doesn't necessarily have anything to do with freight brokering except, often times, people call or email me and tell me they have this real passion to work independently as a freight broker. They can't let go of this passion. So, they should not try to let go. Never let go of your dreams.
There is power in these dreams IF you hold true to them.

Great piece John.
